Poster Discussion Session – Presenter Guidelines
Kindly note that the guidelines apply for regular and late breaking poster discussion presentations.
Poster Discussion Session (PDS) information
This year there will be four PDS Domes located in four different e-Poster areas in the exhibition hall. Each PDS Zone features a large projection screen and space for audience. Each PDS contains 12-15 posters and runs for 90 minutes in total. The abstract presenter will have the opportunity to summarize their main findings in 5-7 minutes including discussion time (depending on number of abstracts per session) while zooming into different parts of the e-Poster. Two moderators will chair the session and make sure that each presenter receives sufficient attention and also encourage questions from the floor. Please note that it is preferred that the presenters remain for the entirety of the session to answer questions. Publication of abstracts and e-Posters
All presented abstracts and e-Posters will be available at the following sources, respectively:
- Online programme: The abstract text will be published on the first day of the Congress, Saturday 1 June 2019 and will be available also after the congress.
- EAACI Congress 2019 app: Abstracts and e-Posters will be available from the 1st of June until the end of the congress
- EAACI Media Library: Abstracts and e-posters will be available on the 1st of June and remain available afterwards.
- Virtual Congress Hub: Abstracts and e-posters will be available from the 1st of June.
- Allergy Journal: abstracts will be published approximately 2 months after the Congress
Best presentation prize
A prize of EUR 200 will be awarded to the best presentation in each abstract session. The winners of the awards will be listed each evening at the EAACI Counter in the registration hall and acknowledged on the Congress website. The prize money will be paid after the Congress and a diploma will be sent by e-mail.
Poster upload and measurements
E-Posters must be uploaded prior to the Congress in order to allow technical processing. EAACI’s partner, CYIM has already sent out login instructions (including a poster template) for the upload of your e-Poster. If you have not yet received these instructions, please kindly contact support.congres@cyim.com for support. Please be aware that the final deadline for the poster upload will be May 20, 2019.
We kindly ask you to prepare a one-page poster which will be presented in landscape. The poster measurements are as follows:

Illustration layout
Drawings, diagrams and pictures are helpful and often necessary to illustrate results and conclusions. Make sure that your illustrations are easy to understand. Do not overload charts or drawings with information.

QR codes
QR codes are allowed on all posters for the purpose of disseminating scientific and educational content. The information available using the QR code should be freely accessible and should not require any specific log-in. In agreement with applicable laws, rules regulating restrictions for promotional activities in the context of medical events, QR codes should not give access to company sponsored websites allowing the free access to prescription medicines advertisements.
Interactive Zones
On the online upload platform we will ask you to select interactive zones. It will help you to present your e-Poster as you will be able to zoom these zones by clicking on it. To give you a better idea of the interactive e-Poster station, have a look here.
Conflict of interest
A disclosure of conflict of interest* must be included on the poster. It should be placed either on the top or the bottom of the poster and state:

In relation to this presentation, I declare that there are no conflicts of interest.
* A conflict of interest is any situation in which a speaker or immediate family members have interests, which may cause a conflict with the current presentation. Conflicts of interest do not preclude the delivery of the talk but should be explicitly declared. These may include financial interests (e.g. owning stocks of a related company, having received honoraria, consultancy fees), research interests (research support by grants or otherwise), organisational interests and gifts.
Trade names
Please note that the same rules apply for poster presentations as for abstracts with regards to trade (brand) names and company names/logos. Any place on the abstract and poster should not include the brand names (the trade name used for commercial purposes). Non-proprietary (generic, chemical) names of drugs should be used. Company names can be used in the authors’ affiliation and as a source to a material mentioned in the body of the poster, such as “Imiquimod (3M, Milwaukee, USA) was used to stimulate dendritic cells.”
As company logos are legally the same as the name of the company, they can be used in any place where the company name can be written.
If EAACI receives a complaint about the rules not being followed, the matter will be investigated after the Congress and appropriate action will be taken.
Consent for publication of individual patient data – applies to abstracts and presentations with identifiable patient information
For the publication of an abstract/presentation that contains identifiable information about patients, it is necessary that patients have given consent for the research to be published. For all abstracts/presentations that include identifiable patient details (e.g. gender, age, illness, location) or images, written informed consent for the publication of these must be obtained from the patient (or their parent or legal guardian).
It is the author’s responsibility to obtain written informed consent for publication of clinical details and/or clinical images from the patient/parent/guardian/relative of the patient. A respective statement needs to be included on the poster.
Your poster in the app
To give your poster more impact and visibility, EAACI will include your abstract in the EAACI Congress 2019 app where they will be available as of 01 June 2019.
Registration
All presenting authors must register and pay the registration fee.

Thematic Poster Session – Presenter Guidelines
Kindly note that the guidelines apply for regular and late breaking thematic poster presentations.
Following the “EAACI Goes Green Initiative” all posters must be submitted in an electronic format, paper posters will NOT be accepted.
Location and session information
For all other questions related to your poster, please contact the EAACI Congress 2019 Abstract Team at eaaci2019abstract@eaaci.org.
The Thematic Poster Sessions (TPS) will take place in four different e-Poster areas in the exhibition hall at designated e-Poster stations. Each e-Poster station can be clearly identified with the help of signs at each station indicating the session number and title.
The abstracts are organised in thematic groups of 15-20 posters and will be presented on a specific day at a designated E-Poster station. In addition, all presented abstracts and e-Posters will be available at the following sources, respectively:
- Online programme: The abstract text will be published on the first day of the Congress, Saturday 1 June 2019 and will be available also after the congress.
- EAACI Congress 2019 app: Abstracts and e-Posters will be available from the 1st of June until the end of the congress.
- EAACI Media Library: Abstracts and e-posters will be available on the 1st of June and remain available afterwards.
- Virtual Congress Hub: Abstracts and e-posters will be available from the 1st of June.
- Allergy Journal: abstracts will be published approximately 2 months after the Congress.
At lunch time the presenters are required to stand by their station and answer questions from delegates. During this time, two moderators will be present at each station and ask the presenters to briefly present their findings. Please note that each TPS runs for 90 minutes in total. It is preferred that the poster presenters remain for the entirety of the session to answer questions.

Text layout
Give a short and comprehensive review of the basic items of your study. Divide your text into clearly delineated paragraphs and sections such as Introduction or aim, materials and methods, results and conclusions. Remember that it is easier to read a paragraph of six lines or less. As we have digital posters this year you can easily zoom into different parts of the E-poster.
Interactive Zones
On the online upload platform we will ask you to select interactive zones within your e-Poster. It will help you to present your e-Poster as you will be able to zoom these zones during your presentation, by clicking on it.
