About Lisbon

Lisbon is a beautifully old city located by the delta of the Tagus river. The city sits majestically overlooking the water and savoring the fresh ocean breeze. Lisbon is known for its seven hills, so you are sure to get the best views from the multiple viewpoints (miradouro) of the city. When you glance out, you can enjoy the city’s history with characteristic Portuguese sidewalks, the discovery period monuments, the traditional tiles, the old-fashioned trams and iconic squares. You can easily enjoy the beach, go for a hike, learn how to surf, get lost in Lisbon’s most trendy and friendly neighborhoods (Bairro Alto or Alfama) or taste our surprising gastronomy, including one of the 1001 different codfish recipes (bacalhau).
