EAACI Congress 2024
BackSSS6 - EAACI & WAO Joint Symposium : World Allergy Forum – Is the Burden of Chronic Cough Underappreciated in Allergy Practice?
Objectives
Chronic cough is a common but underestimated condition by most doctors and patients, which can significantly affect the quality of life of patients and their families. To improve the care of patients with chronic cough, it is important to understand in which diseases it can occur, what the mechanisms are that produce it, and what treatments can be the most effective. That understanding will guide doctors and healthcare professionals who see patients with chronic cough to provide better treatments.
The participant will be able to:
- Explain in which patients and in what diseases we find chronic cough and how it can influence therapeutic decisions
- Describe the neurochemical mechanisms that occur in patients with chronic cough and their consequences
- Outline the options that exist for the treatment of chronic cough and how to select them according to the etiopathogenesis
