Dr. Teresa Caballero obtained her MD from the University of Santander, Spain. She specialized in Allergy at the Hospital Universitario La Paz (HULP) in Madrid and completed her PhD at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. Since 1991, she has worked as a consultant in Allergy at HULP. Dr. Caballero has a long-standing interest in Hereditary Angioedema and coordinates the National Reference Centre (CSUR) for Hereditary Angioedema and a certified ACARE center at HULP. She also chairs the Angioedema Committee of the SEAIC and leads the U754 research group at CIBERER. In addition, she serves as a Scientific Assessor for AEDAF, the Spanish Patients' Association on Hereditary Angioedema.

Dr. Caballero has authored numerous scientific publications on angioedema and was honored with the 2019 “For HAE Award” at the 11th C1-inhibitor and Angioedema Workshop. She currently serves as the Secretary of the EAACI Dermatology Section and is a Board member of the EAACI Angioedema Working Group.
