Avner Reshef MD is the Director of Allergy, Immunology and Angioedema Center, at Barzilai University Hospital, Ashkelon, Israel. His professional and academic career in the recent years were dedicated to the research and treatment of Hereditary Angioedema (HAE), and other clinical expressions of angioedema. His group established a unique HAE expert center in Israel, that follows up and manage patients and families. His center participated in numerous international clinical trials, leading to the introduction of new treatment modalities for HAE. His publications in the medical literature include original research articles, reviews and comments. He served as an editor and as a reviewer of several international medical journals. He participated in development of HAE clinical guidelines, and was recently heading an international initiative to update the classification, nomenclature and acronyms of angioedema.
