Dr Hide graduated Hiroshima University and obtained MD, Ph.D degrees in 1988. He worked as a pos-doc in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, USA for research of intracellular signal transductions of mast cells, in London, UK identifying the presence of IgG autoantibody against the high affinity IgE receptor (FceRI) in chronic spontaneous urticaria. He came back to Japan in 1993, worked as a dermatologist in Onomichi general hospital, and back to Hiroshima University in 1996. He was appointed for a chairman professor of the Department of Dermatology in 2011, Dean of Medical School of Hiroshima University from 2016 to 2020, and deputy president of Hiroshima Univ until 2021. He is currently appointed as the director of Hiroshima City Hiroshima Citizens Hospital and continues both clinical and basic research of dermatology, immunology and allergy, especially urticaria, angioedema and atopic dermatitis.
