Gailen D. Marshall, MD PhD is the R Faser Triplett Sr MD Chair of Allergy and Immunology, Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics , Pathology and Population Health Science, and Chief, Laboratory of Behavioral Immunology Research at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He received both his PhD in Immunology and MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, did internal medicine training at the University of Iowa and completed his internal medicine residency, chief residency  and Allergy-Immunology fellowship at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. Major research interests focus on mechanisms of stress  on dysfunctional immune responses involved in various diseases including allergic rhinitis and asthma and, most recently, COVID-19. He also studies the immunomodulatory effects of new therapeutic agents for allergy and asthma. He has published over 250 peer reviewed articles, reviews and book chapters.
