MD is a graduate of Ege University School of Medicine, where she also trained as an internist, clinical immunologist and allergist. Currently, she is a professor of internal medicine and allergy and immunology at the same institution. Dr. Mete Gokmen focuses on flow cytometry, allergen immunotherapy, urticaria and angioedema. She serves as the chief of the flow cytometry laboratuary at Ege University. She had been the head of The Turkish Hereditary Angioedema Working Group between 2018. She has initiated The Travelling Hereditary Angioedema School Programme to increase hereditary angioedema awareness among physicians throughout Turkey. She has also initiated The Turkish Hereditary Angioedema Patient’s Association in 2015. Her clinic follows more than 150 patients with hereditary angioedema.
