Christine Yee Yan Wai

Dr. Christine Wai graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with first class honours in Biology in 2010. She pursued postgraduate studies and research at CUHK and was awarded her Ph.D. in Biology in 2015. She then received her postdoctoral training at The School of Life Sciences, followed by the Department of Paediatrics in the same university. My research work centres in designing diagnostic platforms and novel therapies, defining disease pathogenesis and immunotherapy mechanisms of food allergy. My research has made many novel contributions to the field, including the construction of hypoallergen DNA vaccines and mimotopes of shrimp tropomyosin, as well as discovery of biomarkers for fish and shrimp allergy diagnosis that led to four US non-provisional patents. I am currently a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Paediatrics of CUHK.
