Andrea Zanichelli is a Senior Physician in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Academic Luigi Sacco Hospital and Adjunct Professor at the University of Milan. He specialised in internal medicine and completed a PhD degree at the University of Milan. His main research interest is HAE and acquired angioedema due to C1-INH deficiency. He is an author of more than 100 publications on the various aspects of angioedema and has conducted 16 clinical trials as Co-investigator/Principal Investigator for the development of new therapies for HAE. He also conducted an observational survey to evaluate safety and effect on quality of life of self-administration with C1-INH in patients with HAE. He contributed to the formation of an Italian network for C1-INH-HAE (ITACA) and conducted a nationwide survey of HAE in Italy. He is a member of international expert groups for development of clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of angioedema
