Professor Helen Reddel, MBBS PhD FRACP
Professor Helen Reddel is a Research Leader at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research Macquarie University, a respiratory physician at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Director of the Australian Centre for Airways disease Monitoring, and Chair of the GINA Science Committee.
Prof Reddel’s current research includes strategies for identifying and reducing exacerbation risk in mild asthma; a large real-world cohort of patients with asthma and/or COPD aimed at identifying underlying mechanisms; population monitoring of asthma and COPD; and qualitative research about patient perspectives in mild and severe asthma. As Chair of the GINA Science Committee, Dr Reddel has led major evidence-based changes in asthma management across the spectrum from mild to severe asthma.
