He has led studies utilizing unbiased cluster approaches to define asthma phenotypic heterogeneity and severity as well as investigated the relationship between airway cellular inflammation and severity in asthma and COPD. He has had an active role in designing and performing clinical trials that provide an evidence basis for therapeutic interventions in asthma and COPD as well as a new systems pharmacogenomics project. He has published over 450 manuscripts, 120 book chapters, editorials and reviews, as well as over 700 scientific abstracts.
