Uta Jappe is Head of the Division of Clinical and Molecular Allergology, Research Center Borstel, and Head of the Interdisciplinary Allergy Outpatient Clinic, Dept. of Pneumology, University of Lübeck, Germany. Her fields of research interest are molecular allergology (identifying and characterizing new allergens from foods, inhalant allergen sources, and drugs, their structure and function), the mechanistic (molecular) investigation of pathomechanisms of allergy and asthma, the
improvement of molecular allergy diagnostics and individualized therapy. Since 2016, she is elected member of the Collegium Internationale Allergologicum, and since 2017 of the Executive Committee of the WHO/IUIS Allergen Nomenclature Subcommittee. Her basic and translational allergy research projects are funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Federal Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF), the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology, and the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL).
