Nicolas Charles

Nicolas Charles got his PhD in Immunology from the Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris, France) in 2005 on the characterization of effectors of the high affinity receptor for IgE (FceRI) in mast cells. He realized his post-doctoral training in the laboratory of Dr Juan Rivera at the NIAMS, NIH, Bethesda (MD, USA). He was appointed researcher at the INSERM (french national institute of health and biomedical research) in 2010. In 2018, he was appointed research director at the INSERM and is heading the laboratory "Basophils, Mast cells and Immunopathology" at the Center for Research on Inflammation - INSERM - CNRS - Université Paris Cité. His main research interests are focused on the contribution of basophils, IgE and mast cells in immune-related diseases such as allergies, systemic lupus erythematosus and other antibody-mediated autoimmune diseases.
