Hasan Bayram

Dr. Hasan Bayram received his MD degree from Erciyes University in 1988, and his Pulmonology Residency at Dicle University in 1999, Türkiye. His PhD was on asthma and air pollution, Queen Mary University of London (1994-98), and worked as Post-Doc at National Heart and Lung Institute (2002-2003), Imperial College, London. He is based at Koç University since 2016, where he continuous his work as a professor in pulmonary medicine. Dr Bayram is author of more than 100 full papers and book chapters. Dr Bayram’s main research areas include adverse health effect of air pollution and climate change, nanotoxicology, and allergen-particle interaction. His ongoing research includes mechanisms underlying pathogenesis of COPD including role of progenitor/stem cells, circadian rhythm, ciliary activity of airway epithelial cells in COPD and primary ciliary dyskinesia. His recent studies have focused on effects of SARS-COV-2 on airway epithelial cells, and interaction with pollutants.
