Gilda Varricchi is Associate Professor of Medicine at the Department of Translational Medical Sciences - Center for Research in Basic and Clinical Immunology (CISI), WAO Center of Excellence, University of Naples Federico II, Italy.

She did her Ph.D. at Imperial College London under the supervision of Prof. Stephen Durham and Prof. Mohammed Shamji.

Her research is mainly focused on the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma, new biological therapies of severe asthma, and the role of airway epithelium and alarmins in airway remodeling. She is also interested in exploring the role of mast cells, basophils, eosinophils, macrophages, and T Follicular Helper Cells in allergic diseases.
