Chiara Arena is a senior researcher with a multidisciplinary expertise. She graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pisa and she holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry. During her PhD she focused on the design and synthesis of small molecules for the modulation of the endocannabinoid system. In her time as visiting scientist at the lab of Prof. Dr. Jürg Gertsch at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine (IBMM) in Bern, she gained extensive experience in several biochemical and pharmacological methodologies.

She joined Mabylon in November 2017, driven by her curiosity for immunotherapy as application for the treatment of certain diseases. She contributed to the development of the antibody-discovery platform and to the establishment of in vitro models for the functional characterization of antibodies. She currently occupies the position of Senior Scientist in the Immunology group.
